PAST INTERNATIONAL STUDENT TESTIMONIALS 2006-2007
November 2006My employer has agreed to sponsor me using visa 457 but I will have to leave the country, lodge application and come back when I get the visa. Therefore for the time being I’m still around to sort something’s out before going.

HWE Mining February 2007 I got a job which will start next week (Adam looked for me). Interview was attended last Friday and I got the call today offering me the job. I am so happy to hear that since the environment over there seems like the place I want to learn more. Well at least I didn't give up the full time course last year when a part time job came around. It was really worth waiting to finish the whole course and better opportunity comes. Thank you for your advice too.
I was thrilled to hear about that and he asked me when I am able to start. Well, I going to start next Wed to let you know. I’d like to thank AICT a lot for checking me out and placing me.
Casey completed her studies at Uni and couldn’t find a job. She enrolled in our Direct 2 IT Training program end of last year. Casey has been placed at the Uniting Church of WA- permanent fulltime Helpdesk Support Officer, with Bob Levy

Uniting Church of WAApril 2007 I have started working for Moncrieff in Nov 2006. Since the first day I have been working with Western Power as an outsourced company. Here I have learnt a lot about the helpdesk role and after 6 months I can do whatever I want with a pc, building pc’s, installing software and troubleshooting, which is the hard part to learn.
AICT helped me at lot. Not just to find a job but even to learn quickly everything you need to start a career in IT. It is not easy but they do a really good job, the teachers are amazing; helping you with every single step, giving you advice and teaching how to solve problems in different ways. IT is not easy but they way they teach make everything sound normal...
In my first job my salary is about 40k a year. I was really happy with that. Moncrieff is the kind of company who wants you to improve your self all the time through courses and even asking staff to go back to school. They are willing to organise it without any problems..
I thank AICT for what they did and for what they will do in the future for me to improve my self.

Western PowerJanuary 2007My position at Winthrop is a Field Services Engineer within a Technical Division. After completing three months probation period, I was nominated to take the position. The salary package is $35k base plus $1080 for phone allowance and $3000 for fuel allowance. We also have a bonus every month and it will be $400 or $640 but depending on how much we make money. If we hit the target every month, my whole salary will be $46,760. When I was on casual base, the salary was $36k.
Just felt really happy to get my job even before I graduated from the computer technician program- (3months)
Thank you!

KineticMarch 2007My ambition was to become an IT professional. The first step towards this was to become a graduate in Information Technology, however, I quickly realised that I needed to be more qualified to enter the IT industry.
Australasian Institute of Commerce and Technology provided not only theoretical knowledge but also assisted in getting work experience with an IT company. This is essential to enter the IT industry. I was eager to do this course especially as within a small period of time I gained a good knowledge in the computer technical field.
I feel I gained immense knowledge on the technical side of the IT industry including PC repairs, diagnosing faults and problem solving. After completing the course I felt that I was competent and confident to work for either an IT company as a ‘Hardware Technician’ or to start my own business.
Due to personal reasons I had to move from Perth to Sydney. Consequently I had to complete the work experience program in Sydney. This was no problem for Hands On, though, they found me work experience in New South Wales. As a result, I was given a great opportunity to complete my work experience within a reputable company in their Tech Bay.
The management was very satisfied with my working ability and as a result I was offered a full time position as ‘Computer Hardware Technician’ and I am happy to say that the knowledge I gained during the course is helping me in my everyday work.

Harvey NormanMay 2007I have gained an MCSE qualification and started a new career in the computer industry with a first class company. For the first time in years I really enjoy my work and look forward to coming in each day.
It was more difficult than expected for a 42 year old man to change careers but AICT’s enthusiastic and committed people turned my dream into a reality.
In my opinion it is the little things like a friendly smile or genuine interest that set companies apart and your company definitely falls into that category. Thanks again for a refreshing and fulfilling experience that truly exceeded my expectations.
