Following the high volume response generated by the previous two articles, thru the e-mails asking for more information about the educational & the employment status for students in Singapore, I decided to post this article.

Many interested students would already know about the 2 Casinos, of which one is scheduled to open early this year & another late this year. The delay in the opening of these mega-projects will be a blessing in disguise. Millions of job-seekers here and from the surrounding countries will benefit from the arrival of this new casino culture in Singapore, which is a heaven-sent. The S$5bil (RM11.9bil) Marina Bay Sands scheduled for the early 2010 & the S$5.2bil (RM12.3bil) Genting project, which will open its doors in mid 2010, will need more than 30,000 trained professionals within only 12-18 months, ranging from museum director and top managers to roulette operators and hotel receptionists, which will not be easy to meet. With the limited population, the casinos will result in a greater reliance on foreigners, whatever the intention.
The Casinos could raise economic growth by 2% and double tourist arrivals up to to 17 million and raise total tourism receipts to S$30bil (RM71.2bil) by 2014 (non-recession calculations). Singapore government also plans to built more Casinos in Singapore after the current 10-year moratorium expires. Until then, these are the only two. The economic prediction is also that Singapore is entering a golden economical era in next 5 to 10 years which shall be unmatched in history.
